1.  Joe Ruffalo mentioned that Ed Godfry & his wife just had their 2nd grandchild. Also, Rebecca Bryant is still in the hospital, feeling tired and hoping to go home soon.

2.  Bernadet Jacobs president of the DAN, presented on the Dexcom Cgm, & the DAN’S Bill of Rights.
The DAN has a seminar planned for this summer which will be held at the NFB National Convention. The Diabetics seminar at Convention will be held on the afternoon of July 5th from 1:30 to 5:00 PM. Format of the seminar has changed and registration will be 1 full hour and all business will be taken care of up-top.
During the seminar, Representatives from CMM (Center for Medicade & Medicare) will be in attendance at the Dan’s seminar. The DAN’S seminar this year will cover Continuous Glucose Monitor’s (CGM’S) and the goal is to work to get Medicare to cover the cost of them. 

Access to Medical group, started by Eric Duffy & Dylan Gaudet from Governmental Affairs of the NFB have come together to form the “Access to Medical Technology Group” since access in the medical area is further behind than other forms of technology so far as accessibility is concerned. Susan Collins is the head of a group that they actually have in the U.S. Congress that is comprised of diabetics.

4.  Open for Questions:
Will the DAN seminar be streamed for those unable to  attend or a recording be made available?

5. There is a Bill of Rights of the DAN that mandates medical equipment used by blind diabetics must be made accessible. Bernie will email a copy of the Bill of Rights to Angela.

Bernie stated its important for all of us to contact our NJ congress-people & Senators and tell them you want them to support the passage of Bill of Rights.
Cinthia Jones would like a hard-copy of the Bill of Rights mailed since she doesn’t use a computer.
