[Njabs-talk] 10 Best Tips for High School Students

Hi Joe

Here are my tips:

1. Don't base your decision on where to go to college on how "good" a
college claims the disability office is.
2. Speak to your professors about your accommodations, instead of letting
the disability office do that for you.
3. Be a friend without being a burden to others. e.g. Although huge parties
on campus are often really great, if you don't have much experience dealing
with the crowds etc. and none of your friends are going, it could be better
not to go than ask some random person you don't know to get you refreshments
or a drink, or, worst of all, direct you back to your dorm if they live in a
different dorm!
4. Although being shy isn't the best option, don't just introduce yourself
to random people on the quad or hang out in their rooms when you're not
necessarily welcome just to make friends.
