[Njabs-talk] NJABS conference call 6/14/09 minutes

We started at 8:10pm.  Jessica Scannell recited the NFB pledge.
Evelyn asked for people to vollunteer at the Independence Market at
this year's national convention.  Anyone interested can email her or
call (410) 669-9314 and ask for Mrs. Maurer.
Evelyn talked about the March for Independence fundraiser, also to
take place at the national convention in Detroit (July 3-8).  She has
organized a team--New Jersey Student Soldiers--to raise money.  The
money raised goes toward grants.  Visit www.marchforindependence.org
to sign up for the march or email Evelyn (evelyn at njabs.org), or call
the center and ask to speak to Kristi Bowman.  Anyone not attending
the convention can still register online to become a virtual marcher.
Checks should be payable to the National Federation of the Blind.
Marchers will receive folding cards in the mail that they may
distribute as a way of asking to be sponsored.
People interested in attending Convention for the first time next year
can apply to the Kenneth Jernigan Scholarship for First-Timers by
emailing Alan Harris toward the beginning of 2010.
Anyone attending this year's convention who is interested in
vollunteering at the NJ table should email Jerilyn Higgins
(jdhiggins at rcn.com).
