Requesting special prayers for Tara.

This is a special request to keep Tara Carty in your thoughts and prayers on
Thursday, February 28th and in the days ahead. Tara has had issues from her
diabetes and if we can offer her strength and comfort through our prayers,
may this bring her the power and peace through this burden she has to carry.
Let us all come together for Tara to let her not feel alone in her time of
this journey.

I am including a message Tara shared with regards to what she has been
enduring.

Subject: Fw: Having surgery on Thursday...

As some of you know, I have been having major medical issues since we had
that big storm. My hemoglobin was low and I received two blood transfusions.

The next day, my aunt Kathy passed away and I have been dealing with her
arrangements and cleaning out her apartment. On Friday, February 22nd, I had
a scheduled procedure in the hospital for my access for dialysis. I have
this done every couple of months to make sure it is not getting blocked.

When I was on the operating table on Friday, my surgeon found that the
access was completely shut down! A procedure that usually takes about one
half hour took almost four hours with general anesthesia! Luckily, my
surgeon is great and he got it unblocked and working again. I stayed in the
hospital until Saturday night. Sunday, I was in excruciating pain all day. I
did not have any pain medication and the access itself did not feel right to
me. I called the doc and he told me to come and see him on Monday. After
examination, he told me that he agreed and something was wrong with the
access. Today, which is Tuesday, I went to the hospital for another
procedure and it was not blocked but had become narrow. He widened it and it
should work for a few days. On Thursday, I am going to the hospital for
major surgery again. This is much more serious and will be tricky. I am
having thoracic outlet surgery. This will involve the surgeon removing my
first rib, tissue and muscle from the area under my arm to give the access
more room. According to the surgeon, this is our only option and if we do
not do this, the access will shut down. My veins are in horrible shape from
being sick for so many years and also because of the diabetes. I have no
other veins to make another access for dialysis. I know this is a lot of
information but I want you to know that this is very serious. As I am sure
you all know, my school work has to get pushed back to the back burner. I
know I will be in the hospital for the weekend and I am not sure about next
week. Please pray and think good thoughts for me on Thursday.

Thank you,

Tara
