received this Great News from Assemblyman Cryan who shared that the Assembly
A4105 Dusty’s Law Bill had passed the Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee
this afternoon. I looked up on the NJ Legislature website and found that it
was a total, unanimous 11-0 with no abstentions by the committee. I will watch
for the next alert when the full house will be scheduled to vote on this
bill.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

much for your response to Alice Eaddy’s message, a fellow New Jersey
Association of Guide Dog Users member, referencing Assembly A4105, Dusty’s
Law, and offering your positive support of this bill. I write to you as
President of the New Jersey association of Guide Dog Users, the largest
organized group of Guide Dog Users in New Jersey. The majority of our
members have had at least one incident of attack while working with our
canine partners. On December 6, 2012, I gave my testimony and presented
copies from a number of other members to the NJ Senate Law and Public Safety
Committee at their first hearing of Senate S1907, Dusty’s Law. I will attach
my and another gentleman’s, who is a member, testimonies as examples. I had
handed a fax testimony and had a group of the members directly email Senator
Bucco their testimonies if these would be available as a resource should the
total group of testimonies not have been presented to your committee through
the Senate as indicated to me. <o:p></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal
style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto">While I live
in Old Bridge, I have traveled very much throughout our fine Garden State. I
worked for many years in downtown NYC going through Journal Square on a
daily basis until my employer, JPM Chase opened offices in the Newport
facility. As I am now retired, I frequent New Brunswick, Newark, Morristown,
Atlantic City, Cape May and Vineland to indicate some of the areas I and
other guide dog users live in or travel to. <o:p></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal
style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto">I and my
fellow members of the NJ Association of Guide Dog Users thank you for
scheduling the Thursday, December 12, 2013 hearing of A4105. We sincerely
believe the committee and the full Assembly will understand the importance
of Dusty’s Law and the vulnerable position we, the Guide Dog Users in New
Jersey feel we are in without this. Calling our local police departments and
finding out there is nothing they can do today to assist us with one of
these episodes is heartbreaking.<o:p></o:p></P>
