Hey Ken
Well, I am sorry that you have some frustration with this list but you must 
remember
we are all here to assist if possible and no one is knowledgeable in all 
areas.
There are not hundreds of people on this list serve like others on the 
internet.
Some use other email clients.
I happen to use wlm and love it
I do not have this issue nor have ever seen such a message
I do not use google chrome  and have heard over and over that it is not very 
compatible with jaws.
Please do not bash others on this list for trying to assist even if their 
answer is not what you wish or want
Everyone is trying and I applaud the traffic on this little list
My suggestion is to contact
microsoft accessibility and they can assist you through this matter perhaps.
The help is free and the accessibility desk has competent people to work with 
you

I don't know what I have to tell people on this list.  this is the second
time I got a answer like this.  I reread my original message.  so let's try
it again.  when windows live mail is shut down.  it doesn't shut down it
says, "updating your changes, time remaining, items remaining, from, to,
speed, calculating. and name.  what name there is not display name, no from,
no to, and how much time is remaining what speed,  this is in a shutdown.  I
am not updating any changes to my account.  screen reader has nothing to do
with it happens on both jaws and NVDA.  oporating system is windows 7 and
sure don't use a magnification program since I am totally blind got a
similar answer last time I posed a question like this.  when I asked why in
some cases after chrome is used, I go to my email and have to click a link
to read additional information I get a message, "address not valid windows,
internet explorer.  IE has nothing to do what so ever with it chrome is my
default.  what does it mean address not valid when you are clicking a known
link in an email such as the mobile cause link in our fund raiser.  and I
get the same type of anser.  What it says, this is happening only in chrome.
very disappointed in this list.

Hi lists have a strange problem.  windows live isn?t shutting down.  when I
either hit alt plus f4, windows says updating your changes.  time remaining,
items remaing, speed calculating... what items and how many are not said.
no time remaining given.  so have just let it sit there and after maybe 20
minutes finally give up shutting it down by hitting cancel.  also if I do it
through the context menu alt plus space and hit close nothing happens.  if I
try it through the task manager, it gives me a canceling ... dialog.  why
isn?t windows live mail shutting down what exactly is updating and how do I
repare a windows live in the event that it?s a missing file?  computer shows
clean AVG does a great job since I switched to it.

Ken,

are you talking about windows live mail or the other windows live programs?

and are you using windows vista, 7 or 8 on a laptop or desktop/tower?

are you using JAWS as your primary screen reader?

are you using some other adaptive technology like magnification?

when this message pops up, if you press the insert an t keys together, what
is the title that's spoken?

we need to know exactly what the message says. maybe there's a clue as to
what program is generating the message and/or what's going on.
