Brian,Go to settings, then sounds; under the category ringer and alerts make sure that you have change with buttons selected. If this is set then the volume of the ringer and alerts can be adjusted by using the volume buttons. Alice

Subject: [Njtechdiv] iPhone question
Date: Sat, 22 Mar 2014 16:50:23 -0400
Hello All,
Back when I was running iOS6 on my iPhone, I could flip the switch on the side to put my phone on silent. But with iOS7, even though I flip the switch my iPhone doesn’t go on silent. If anyone can give me some suggestions on how to resolve this, I would greatly appreciate it. Maybe I will get an answer during Monday’s Technology Division call.
Sincerely,
Brian Mackey
