Hi folks have had a recurring problem. about two weeks ago I couldn’t log in to my computer. the log on profile couldn’t load. well with sighted help I went into safe mode and logged in and the files were repared. now today same thing happened. went in blindly to safe mode and performed the same fix. this time however took a couple preemptive steps. I hide the reading payne in windows live mail think that is part of the problem. when this happened two weeks ago I scanned with both malware bytes and with AVG and it killed a couple bugs. I have noticed something strange before each happening like this. on a regular shutdown the windows dialog that runs when you install something is trying to come up and ask me do I want a program to make changes. something is trying to update or install on shutsdown. today when scanning both AVG and malwarebytes come up clean. have also scanned my mp3 files this time with AVG and that is clear. so whatever it is if it’s a baddy it’s a rootkit possibly how do I find and detect and remove rootkits? if it’s not a baddy how do I find out what is trying to update and or install and why is it trying it on a shutdown. finally does anyone know why once the reading payne is hidden, why does windows live mail now say, “outlook express message list view?
