Hi Eileen,

Yes, JAWS 2018 is an upgrade that will count against your SMA.

Subject: [Njtechdiv] Question Regarding Difference Between Jaws 18.x & 2018?

Hi All,

I am currently running the latest version of Jaws 18.x on my computer. I have an SMA with Freedom Scientific to keep Jaws up to date. I was wondering if this new 2018 release that is either out already or soon to be released that will start Freedom’s new way of numbering updates/versions of the software will automatically be pushed out to me under the terms of the SMA I have or if I have to re-purchase to keep Jaws up to date.

Also is the new 2018 version of Jaws for totally blind users that do not have the Pearl camera? They seem to bundle/push the two items together. I have scanning software that I’m happy with and don’t want to be forced to buy more scanning software or hardware.

Thanks for any information.

Eileen
