Les, what happens if in that folder you press control+ay and then press 
the delete key?

if that doesn't do anything, try pressing control+home key and pressing 
control+shift+end and then press the delete key.

I have window’s ten and mail with jaws 18
the question is I know how to get to the file’s that say  in box folder 
,deleted folder ,draft folder,sent folder
the question is how do I delete the emails that are in each folder box
I would like to know how to do it one email at a time in a folder box
or a group delete    in    one folder box at a time
