Eileen, I don't know for sure since I don't have FiOS service where I
live (rats! wish there was). There's a chance that your problem is
addressed with the accessibility feature update. I imagine there is a
hotline to call about accessibility issues. By calling them, they might
be able to better provide a fix/answer to your question/problem.

I'm simply passing some information that I believe the members of the
list might find useful/helpful...

Mario,

I have Phios for my TV, Internet & Phone service, but I am not sure what
is considered the Video Subscription Service. Is this a feature that
allows for the ordering of movies/programs and watching? I do have DVS
feature enabled on the TV, but what makes me insane is when I get
broadcasts in spanish language because of the fact that I have my DVS
on. I cannot switch between putting DVS on/off without sighted
assistance. Do you know if this will make that ability easier to use so
I can watch all programs of my choosing in English and switch off the
DVS option?

Eileen

Verizon Launches Accessibility Features

Verizon Communications recently launched a resource page for its newly
upgraded FiOS accessible video subscription service. The page provides
information on FiOS text-to-speech functionality, which was pushed out
to subscribers during a recent software update throughout the Verizon
network.
The upgraded accessibility features are part of the changes made through
the 21st Century Communications & Video Accessibility Act (CVAA), which
requires
cable providers to make their navigation systems accessible for
customers who are blind and visually impaired. These features are
currently available on most FiOS systems. To learn more about the
accessibility upgrades, including steps on how to activate such
features, visit,
