in short, the update changes the filing system the iDevice uses. from 
the HPFS to the APFS which is supposed to be more stable and powerful.

What kind of files does it affect?  The only things I have on my iThings
are apps.  There might be a few random photos, but nothing I care about.
So I'm thinking I don't need to back up, particularly.

Hi tech div members the IOS 10.3 is out, however be sure to back up files
before you install it they are changing the file system.
