It very well may be worth the upgrade, then.  Certainly, you'd observe a speed increase, and probably more storage space as well.  And, as apps are getting larger, the more storage, the better.

The only thing to keep in mind is that Apple has removed the headphone jack in order to make its phones thinner.  As far as I'm aware, the phone comes with Lightning EarPods, and a dongle, so you can plug headphones into the lightning port via the dongle, or use the Lightning EarPods.  Or, of course, Bluetooth is an option as well.
