Hi,

There's a few different options.  I'll try and summarize them.

* UberX: You'd typically use this one.  It's for you and a few others, I think a max of 4.

* UberXL: Seats up to 6.  Minivans, SUVs, etc.  Also more costly than UberX.

* UberBLACK: It's a luxury kind of vehicle, obviously more expensive.  I only used this one completely on accident, and it was quite expensive.

* UberPOOL: This is actually the least expensive option.  You share an Uber with someone headed in the same direction, or maybe even headed to the same place.  Since you're headed in the same general direction, you split the cost of the ride.

Thanks guys for your encouragement.  Is Uber X the regular car?  Somehow, I thought that was the shared car. Sorry to be so confused about the whole thing.

No, you don’t have to say there are two people. At least that is if you requested a regular car. I’m not sure if Uber still offers ride share or not, but maybe in a case like that you would have to specify how many people. I usually get the Uber X and don’t have to indicate if I’m riding with another person.

I still haven’t gotten up my nerve to try Uber, and I have another question.  If I’m traveling with my husband, do I have to say there are 2 people when I request the ride?
