[Njtechdiv] Getting Fitbit to count statinary bike?

I just signed up for the Sports and Rec steps challenge.  My Fitbit counts
steps just fine, but is there a way to get Fitbit to register exercise done
on a stationary bike?  

The challenge website says that also counts as steps, but I've never been
able to get Fitbit to recognize it.  I've had to add it as "exercise" and
make a calory estimate, but it doesn't count as steps.
