thank you it works with insert up arrow or insert tab also works
just one thing I do not understand It tells me one out of nine or two out of 
nine
I have over two hundred emails
how do I find out how many I have in total in my in box

I think Insert+Up Arrow does this in the list of messages, also, but I'm not 
100% sure about that.
