using either Chrome or Firefox, I can find the search edit field just 
fine by pressing e to get to it and then pressing space bar if forms 
mode is set to manual, other wise running in to an edit field should 
automatically activate for you.

if you', or anyone else, is still using Internet Explorer, I'd get 
familiar with using either Chrome, Firefox or Edge, or have all three on 
hand just in case. Internet Explorer is highly, highly insecure to keep 
using these days despite it's known reputation for screen reader 
accessibility.
