The way I use this, at least, is by putting the books I read into it. You rate them. For instance, I just read a book called The Store, and I really liked it, so I gave it 4 stars. Now it's recommending me similar books (because you liked this book, here's similar books). It seems like the more titles you add, the more accurate it is. I don't think it's that specific, but it's worth a try anyway. It's also interesting because if you add friends that also use the service, you can see what they're reading; I've found several interesting books this way.
