You could switch to another email program. My husband uses Thunderbird. I think it’s a bit awkward, but it works.

Or, I bought a copy of an older Outlook that lives on my desktop and doesn’t get updated, so I don’t have unexpected problems. I bought it on EBay for around $50. I think the interface is a lot easier to use than any of the current Office 365 versions.

Subject: [NJTechDiv] frustrated by forced switch to the new outlook for windows

Hi list the windows mail app is being replaced by outlook desktop and unfortunately that is as of now. This morning when I opened my mail the new outlook came upwhen I failed to get my aol account linked go back to mail came up and I did. This afternoon though when I looked on my taskbar, outlook for windows was there. Called Microsoft disability and first we tried to uninstall the new outlook but each time it was tried it came back. So we got the gmail account the radio station uses set up but when I typed or tried to type my password no good. I haven’t changed my password but to AOL it doesn’t even exist. When I tried forgot password Oh no a problem with our server try again in a while. The problem is a while was also a few months ago too so Microsoft tech said I either have to keep my email app opened all the time that means of course never shutting down or restarting the computer or every time I want to check my mail go through the settings and find the go back to mail option. That’s not going to last forever sooner or later mail won’t work any more. I haven’t changed that password in years anyone know what to do? In a while check in a while is already a few months. Any thoughts the never shut down or restart your computer ever again prospect isn’t fun. Any ideas?
