How to assign a co-host during a meeting
https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0066640
1. Start the meeting as the host.
2. In the meeting controls toolbar, click the Participants icon .
3. Hover over participant's name who will be a co-host, and choose More.
4. Click Make Co-Host .
If this is what you already have tried, the only possibility might be
that the co-host controls have been disabled? I don't really know since
I have no intention of becoming a host.

Subject: [NJTechDiv] Making someone a co-host on Zoom
I was hosting a Zoom meeting Friday, and I wanted to make someone the
co-host, but I couldn’t find where to do it. I went into host options,
but the only similar thing I saw was to make someone else the host,
nothing about co-host.
So how do I make it happen next time?
Thanks.
Tracy
