[NJTechDiv] my reader isn't typing into my Iphone.

Hi list, just today, was going to send a messenger message on my iphone. I turned on the reader but when I went to my phone in my connected devices it showed connected but when the first field was activated it still said please wait and when I pressed a few braille letters nothing happened.  I had to resort to dictation.  just to see if it was a fluke I added or tried to add a contact the reader shows connected but for some reason it can't see the phone anyone know why?
