Hi, Tracy,
Miss Ruth here! I have a Zoom account, so I just went and created a "mock" meeting to see if I get that message, but it didn't tell me I had to connect calendar, or to get a 3rd party app to do it. 
I wonder if that message might've popped up from somewhere else and is some kind of malware? Just a thought. 
I had a Trojan the other day, but was able to quarantine it before it did any damage. 
Couldn't hurt to run a full scan on your computer to check for viruses. If you're clear of viruses, I'd probably scrap the invitation and create a new one to see if the issue persists.
