Dear friends and colleagues,<br>
My name is Tracy DeWitt, I am John DeWitt’s daughter. i
wanted to reach out to all of you and share the sad news of my dad’s
passing.<br>
It was a shock to all of us, because he was only diagnosed with Kidney
cancer about 4 weeks ago. He died of a weakened heart after the stress of
all his cancer tests and I am relieved that he will not have to face
surgery and months of chemo etc.<br>
I would like to give you information regarding his funeral services. We
hope you can attend.<br><br>

John Cornelius DeWitt, 81, passed away on June 28, 2014 in Scottsdale,
AZ. John was born in Long Branch, NJ on July 20, 1932. He is
survived by his sister, Patricia Rayfield; children, Robin Brinks, David
Krieger DeWitt, and Tracy DeWitt; grandchildren, Tyler, Abigail, Luke,
Maya, Rhys, and Trent. He was predeceased by his father, Richard
DeWitt, mother, Jean Burnett, and sister, Margaret Dickinson.<br><br>
Although declared legally blind as a teenager, John eventually earned a
Masters Degree from The Juilliard School of Music. His love of
music led him to a career in radio broadcasting with CBS and local radio
stations in Illinois. He also worked at the American Foundation for
the Blind in New York City. John went on to create DeWitt and
Associates which assisted in technological training for the
disabled. He retired to Mesa, AZ in 2012. <br><br>
Memorial services will be held at Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave.,
Ridgewood, NJ on July 20, 2014 at 2:00 pm.<br><br>
