The Federal Communications Commission has voted unanimously in favor of
increasing the required number of hours of video descriptions from 50 to
87.5. The new requirement -- which goes into effect in July 2018 -- also
increases the window for video descriptions from prime time to anytime
between 6 a.m. and 12 a.m.<br>
