<li>Tech tips time: Tony Santiago</li>
</ol>

Tony asked the group whether they wanted to talk about using the rotor, the home screen, or using the App Library. Mary Jo suggested that he discuss all three of those topics and no one objected. Tony explained that the rotor represented a short cut which could be used to get to different points on I-Devices. To use the rotor, you can spread out two of your fingers and turn the rotor like you are turning a dial. There are numerous items that you can include in the rotor but it is better to have the ones you will use the most rather than a packed rotor. Categories such as words, lines, links, hints, etc. are items which are used the most. If you want to put an item on your rotor, double-tap the category and it will appear there. You can also reorder the items on your rotor. If you come back to your rotor at a later time, you will know which items are there because the word “selected” will be read before the name of the item. You can flick down when you find the item you want on the rotor. Depending on what you are looking at, some of the categories may not show up on the rotor. Even though the rotor seems intimidating, it is a very useful feature.

Ed Godfrey stated instead of keeping everything on the rotor, you can press a two-finger quadruple tap to get into what is called Voiceover Settings. A four-finger double-tap will take you to the Help screen. You can also get to the shortcut menu by a two-finger single tap and a one-finger triple tap. If you do a four-finger double tap, it will take you to the JAWS practice screen where you can learn all your gestures. Do four-finger double tap to get out of the practice screen. You could add handwriting to your rotor but you would have to do this manually. You can use it to write in passwords etc.
