Dear Students in the Nabs southwest region(CA, NV, HI, NM,AZ)
Hello, I would first like to take this opportunity to introduce
myself. My Name Is Darian Smith, I am a board member with the
national Association of Blind Students (nabs). I currently serve as
the regional representative for your area. I would like to take
this opportunity to gage interest in two things. First, I would like
to see what kind of interest there might be in a regional
gathering of the state student divisions? If there is enough
interest from all of you, we would look to move forward with planning
an in-person gathering for sometime in the early part of 2010.
Secondly, I would like to set-up a regional meeting via conference
call to happen during the first part of November, possibly that first
weekend of? This would give all of us an opportunity to talk about
what our states our doing right now, be it fund-raisers, Meet the
blind month events, or anything fun.
We can take time during the meeting to talk more about the
possible regional gathering, and what we would like it to look like
and who would like to take the lead on helping to plan it.
If you have interest in either one or both of these events, please
feel free to e-mail me @dsmithnfb at gmail.com
Thank you all for your time and I hope to hear from all of you soon!
Best wishes on an enjoyable weekend!
Board member/Southwest Regional Representative
National Association Of Blind Students
"And if you will join me in this improbable quest, if you feel destiny
calling, and see as I see, a future of endless possibility stretching
if you sense, as I sense, that the time is now to shake off our
slumber, and slough off our fear, and make good on the debt we owe
past and future generations,
then I'm ready to take up the cause, and march with you, and work with
you. Together, starting today, let us finish the work that needs to be
usher in a new birth of freedom on this Earth."- Baraq Obama
