Introduction of guests: Darian Smith NABS board member

Treasurer's report: there is no report due to David not being at the meeting
and not giving Tara a report thus far.

Minutes from previous meeting: Brianne moved, Amanda seconded, motion
caries, minutes are approved as read.

Announcements: The Albuquerque White Cane luncheon is October 16 at the
Hilton we need people to attend otherwise the NFB has to pay for the
remaining unsold meals. The cost is $16 per person and the pre-registration
form along with payment need to be to Tonia Trapp by Thursday September 30.

There will not be a Disability Awareness Day until the Spring Semester.

We discussed having our own table set up on campus to sell our t-shirts and
mugs and hand out literature. Amanda will contact someone at ARC and Student
Activity Center to find out what we need for this. We are thinking either
the 18, 20, or 22nd of October from 9:00-4:00 Area on campus TBA. More
information will be emailed regarding the booth/table on campus as it
becomes available.

We may have some benefit nights in October or November, with Fuddruckers and
Ortegas as some possible locations. Tara will contact both places and
request input on the choices for the night and location depending on the
results.

We are still selling the mugs and are considering putting candy inside them
and raising the price to $15.00. Tara will ask Ken for permission to do this
and let the group know this week via email. Update: Tara has not gotten in
touch with Ken's wife as of yet, but will tomorrow and let the group know.

We discussed the idea of doing a movie night/game night at someone's home
during the month of October. Date and time and location TBA via email.

We discussed having a student seminar to build membership, fundraise, and
recruit future new leaders into the division to take our places when we are
no longer students. Some concerns are lack of interest and keeping people
engaged. Possible ways to promote the seminar would be mentioning
scholarships/food, word of mouth, facebook, twitter, contacting the
Commission for the Blind, ARC, and DSS at CNM. We hope to collaborate with
the parent division and the state affiliate. We plan to create a
registration form which would include a fee of $5, which would cover the
dues for any attendees that become new members until the 2012 convention.
(Current members would not need to pay the fee.) The date for the seminar is
currently set for Saturday November 13, 2010 at the NMSBVI Preschool, with
the seminar going from 9:00-4:30 with lunch/fundraising going from
12:00-1:30.

Josh will contact the School for the Blind, the counselors at the Commission
for the Blind, and CNM's Special Services Office to let them know about the
seminar.

Michael is writing a registration form and will send it to Tara by Thursday
September 30 at 5:00 PM. Update: Due to some issues, Michael was not able to
send it till yesterday, but Tara has it and is in the process of reviewing
it.

Amanda is contacting the state affiliate to find out how they can help us
for the seminar.

Tara will contact ARC, TVIs in APS and others she can get in touch with to
let them know about the seminar.

Brianne will call the parent division and find out how they can be a part of
the seminar as well.

Tara is suggesting that the blind children and students have a Q&A for the
children to ask questions of the students.

Presidential release: vote for the Youth slam 250,000 grant with the pepsi
refresh project text 101913 to pepsi (73774) each day for the rest of
September, new phone through T-Mobile with text-to-speech capabilities,
