New Mexico Association of blind students July meeting minutes: 7/17/2011

Monica called the meeting to order at 7:18 pm. 

 

Roll call:

Monica Martinez

Amanda Youngblood

Josh Brownell

Michael Postlethwait

Introduction of guests: There were no guests at this meeting. 

 

Treasurer's report:  $1237.50 as of 7/8/11

Monica will be putting $101.00 to deposit tomorrow

Amanda motioned for approval.  Michael seconded.  Motion passed

 

Old business: Still looking at IHOP.  Amanda is going to ask Village Inn if
they would like to become involved in a benefit night.  

Michael or Josh will look into Olive Garden.

 

20 t-shirts were sold at National Convention.  We have 11 t-shirts left.  

 

New business: Josh has not looked into any places for community service as
of yet.  Josh will look into Joy Junction soon.  

 

No July Presidential Release.  

 

The state fair parade: Amanda, Josh, Monica and Michael are interested in
walking.  

 

Meet Your Legislator July 23- 11:30 am.  at NMSBVI Preschool 801 Stephen
Moody.  Josh and Monica are planning on attending.  

 

Pool party at Valley High School Saturday August 27, 5:00-7:00 PM.

 

National Convention went very well.  We will be in Florida from 2013-2018 at
the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Florida.  

Next year, the convention will be in Dallas, Texas.  

 

Next activity is bowling, Saturday, August 6.  at Leisure Bowl.  7400 Lomas.
It is by Louisiana.  1:00 pm.
