NFB scholarship Program's top scholarship is $12,000. The four qualifications include: you must be legally blind in both eyes, and must have proof of visual impairment. You must be a student in college, which includes community college and studying abroad. You must attend the entire NFB convention and you will receive help to attend the convention.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal;text-autospace:none'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The required documents are: two letters of recommendation, an official transcript (if you are in high school, send your high school transcript.) Your transcript must show leadership and academic proof. The president's letter is written by your affiliate president (please request your letter before March 31, 2012. The thing that affects the committee most is your essay. Every document can now be uploaded to the website for easier submission. The application can now be saved so that you can come back to it at a later time. If you are in high school, you must submit your ACT and SAT test scores. The scholarship committee selects the 30 finalists and contacts them via telephone. The committee provides financial help with hotel, air fare, and a $350 debit card to pay for shuttle services, cab expenses, and meals. Social sciences are also accepted such as anthropology. The name of this program is Reaching the Pinnacle or RTP. Every semester, the student receives $500 per semester to provide students with an education. The deadline is March 30, 2012. Students must spend 20 hours per semester helping students. These hours must be logged to keep track of the student’s activity. You must have proof of disability, your grades, your schedule, and the log sheet. Topics included Sub-minimum wage and making appliances accessible such as braille on washing machines, stoves, and refrigerators as well as the Americans with Disabilities Business Act.
