Just a short note to share the results of my dive into accessible PDF reading approaches. Adobe Pro has an OCR component which snaps in once the PDF is detected to be a scan, so if you have that top version of Adobe, that is the instant easiest and quite accurate mode. Openbook is my second layer, limited in my trials only as being somewhat slower than Adobe Pro and not allowing me to go directly to Dropbox to retrieve a PDF document. I bought and studied the KNFB Reader for the phone and judge it likely the best option for phone use, but it won’t be my first choice since I’ll be reading eighty or more 21-page documents and taking notes, so a laptop will be better than a phone. I saved other suggestions for future reference, but these are the three I plan to use for my judging task that starts very soon. Thank you for your expertise. Hope this info helps others too.
