[nobe-l] Videos by the blind

Hi,
I do MP3 tutorials with a great program called virtual recorder. You can
record straight from your sound card, with your built in mike, or both. I
have it set to both. All you do is press enter on record, and you can record
JAWS or any other screen reader coming from your sound card, and you can
record your voice with the internal mike at the same time. I use a Windows
PC to do this. It is a laptop with a mike built in. You cannot use an
external mike to do this. If your interested in downloading the program, I
will give you the web site to download this and you can just install it to
your Windows PC. I find what is on menus by just entering the name of the
restaurant into Google, and then looking for the menu on the restaurant's
web site. I can also ask SIRI to find restaurant menus, and some will come
up on my iPhone. I use different devices to do different things. I use three
screen readers with a Windows 10 PC; JAWS 17, NVDA 2016.3, and Narrator
which is built into the Windows OS. I use an iPhone to do many tasks like
using KNFB reader to scan print and do OCR on it. Voice Over on the iPhone
will then read the text to you. You can take a picture of a printed page,
and have the KNFB reader app on the iPhone do the OCR and then have it read
to you. I read boxes and cans in stores, and I read menus this way inside of
restaurants. I also use Infty Reader to do OCR on math and science texts.
Infty reader is an OCR program for the PC that will convert math symbols
into a word as it does the OCR. It is like OpenBook and the like, but Infty
reader is very powerful at scanning math texts and having the words,
symbols, and all put into a text file. Please ask questions.
If you would like, I could show you how to create a Facebook account. It is
very easy, and the easiest way to use Facebook is with the mobile site:
m.facebook.com
It is a very easy site to navigate. You can use this site on a PC or phone,
now that I think about it.
Take care.
David Moore
