[nobe-l] Cognitive studies

Good morning everyone,
I have a question, if someone wouldn't mind giving me some insight. I've recently enrolled in college again, with a major in cognitive studies.   Based on the conversations I've had with my advisor, this degree is a hybrid between education and psychology. With this, I plan, or rather I hope,  to educate blind students. But, I'm afraid that I have signed on for a fad degree. Does anyone else have any experience with this particular program of study?
