[nobe-l] Running records?

Hi,

We discussed recording, but my prof said that wouldn’t be able to be done in a normal classroom setting. She never said why though, so maybe I’ll ask her about it.

I was thinking to read the book on braille display and scoring on my computer, or writing down errors on my computer. It would be a lot of back and forth, but would that be efficient or is there a better way.

Thank you for your help.

Typically, the student will only be reading for a minute, so it isn't that much to type out. As the student is reading, I mark mistakes the student makes and then go back to score it. It's also a good idea to record the student doing this, so you can go back if the technology glitches or the student make several mistakes in a row. Feel free to reach out to me, since I recently graduated in the spring of 2017 with degrees in elementary education and special education. I teach third grade at our state school for the blind, but I have two students with a significant amount of vision.

Now we’re building on that and acutually creating lesson plans and completing other assignments that we will use our internship.

It’s a “read on the fly” sort of thing for it to be authentic. The teacher will then make notes on that student’s reading. I don’t know much more than that.

Would also be allowed to make in my classroom? Is it easy to immediately pull of the book that the student is reading? What things should I do beforehand to prepare?
