[nobe-l] Looking for recommendations for schools with strong TVI programs

Hi all,
I’m looking into returning to school to become a TVI. I’m aware that there a number of programs across the country, and I’m not limiting my search to online programs. I currently live in Boston and am looking to move. I am limited by not holding a teaching certification however; I’d need a program that provided the general certification as well, not just the TVI specialization. Unfortunately, I’ve heard less than positive things about the program here in Boston. From what I’ve heard, there tends to be a focus on vision and not much awareness of blind people being TVIs. It sounds less than ideal for a blind person like myself.
Does anyone have any recommendations for programs that are open and accommodating to blind TVIs? Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
