Hi All,
I have recently applied to teach English to adults on a volunteer basis.I would like to hear from blind people who have taught ESOL either as a paid professional or a volunteer.
Are you paid or volunteer?
Do you teach in a one-on-one or group setting?
Where do you find accessible materials?
What part of this work do you find the most challenging?
What do you do when students don’t know a word for something so they point or try to communicate visually and you don’t know their language?
I appreciate any help you can offer.
