Very happy for you or anyone else to ask more detail Nikki, we've all a lot to gain by sharing this kind of stuff.
Best wishes,
Tony

Hi Tony,
Wow, sounds like you have a great set up. I would love to pick your brain a bit off the list if you are willing.

I use two pairs of earphones, just using one earpiece from each pair. In one ear I listen to the laptop I am using to give the class, so I can hear jaws with my slides on screen share or for looking at chat messages students use to ask questions during class. With this set up students can't hear the screen reader. In the other ear I have an earpiece from the other earphones which I connect to a smaller laptop or notetaker which has my speakers notes. Some of my classes are quite big, 50+, so a real bonus with this set up is that I know who is in the class and who is asking questions. I would really like to keep this way of knowing who is doing what when face to face teaching starts again. Another advantage which I haven't explored is the polling mechanism on zoom. This might need a bit of set up beforehand, but should make it possible to have quick quizzes or opinion polls during the class.

>> Hello,
>> I was wondering what you all do during virtual learning with your screen readers? Do you have the computers set so that your students can’t hear your reader of choice or do you tell your students you have it? I am asking because when I’m on zoom I can have it set that way. However, my current placement are using blackboard collaborate ultra and I was told that when my microphone is on they can hear voiceover. I want to see if there is a way for the kids not to hear voiceover when I’m not muted and am teaching. Is this possible with voiceover on a mac or is that better done on a windows with jaws?
