I just moved from Marin to Grover Beach on the Central Coast and applied for a Para position. A friend in the local district really encouraged me to apply. The interviewer was very excited about my experience and then when I mentioned I had a vision impairment, I could feel the energy get sucked out of the room. My DOR person recommended this list as a way to possibly get feedback about how hard it is to get hired in education with a vision impairment. I appreciate hearing about people’s experiences!
