[NOBE-L] Taking TOFEL as a Blind Person

Hi Mitch,
I am currently enrolled in ASU taking the TESOL certification course as a
blind person. The school uses D2L platform that I never used before. When I
first began the course, I can say that the platform was a little clunky, but
that could have been due to human error and unfamiliarity of the platform
itself. The problem I faced was the actual materials in each of the modules.
They were not totally accessible, so I had to register with DRC to get them
to make the materials accessible and after they did that, I am much better
at moving forward with the course. I have also e-mailed the director of the
program to keep her in the loop of any issues I might face throughout the
course so that she can make accommodations for me, if needed. I hope this
gives you encouragement to not give up and move forward with your goals.
Although everything I shared above is true, I do have to let you know that
if you are paying for a certification and are not a fee based student, you
will not have access to the writing or tutor center for help with any
research papers or writing assignments. You will have to pay their
ridiculously high prices for help or look for someone on your own that
doesn't charge a lot of money. Good Luck!

language? I'm very interested in this but wasn't sure if it is all that
