Dear nobe-l Members,
My name is Shai and I am writing to explore the possibility of pursuing a
career in educational administration. As a person with visual impairment,
I'm particularly interested in learning from the experiences of successful
blind administrators.
Through my research, I've discovered a vibrant community of blind
professionals and leaders, but have not yet encountered many resources
specifically addressing the challenges and opportunities of navigating an
administrative role with visual impairment.
Here's where I hope you can help! I'm seeking the opportunity to interview a
blind administrator to gain insights into their career journey. During the
interview, I'd like to learn about:
* Unique challenges and adaptations faced in an administrative role
with visual impairment
* Strategies for overcoming barriers and leveraging strengths within
the administrative environment
* Recommendations for navigating common administrative tasks and
responsibilities
* Advice for aspiring blind administrators on preparing for and
successfully entering the field
I believe firsthand accounts from experienced professionals can offer
invaluable guidance and inspiration as I chart my own course. If you are a
blind administrator i.e principal or vice principal/site administrator, or
know someone who might be interested in participating, I'd be incredibly
grateful for the opportunity to connect. I am flexible with scheduling and
format (phone call, video chat, email exchange) and can readily adapt to
your preferred mode of communication.
Please feel free to reply to this email or message me directly if you are
interested or have any suggestions. I appreciate your time and
consideration, and look forward to learning from your valuable experiences.
Sincerely,
Shai
