Hi Lynzie:
Thank you so much for your willingness to help, and congratulations on finishing your capstone. Will you be student teaching next? What are you going into in the field of education?
Best,
Matthew Robinson

> Hi Matthew! So happy to hear that you are working on your capstone. I just recently finished my capstone project, solely on classroom management. I would love to help you out in any capacity that I can. Feel free to reach out with questions, and if you want to connect via phone or other means, let me know. Hope to hear from you soon!

>> I hope that it was a great convention for all of you. I just wanted to reach out and introduce myself and what I’m doing and see if anyone could help me. I am Matthew, and I am a student at Southern Utah University. I am preparing for my final year studying English education, with the goal of teaching secondary English language arts, Spanish, and/or English as a second language. My goal was to have graduated earlier this spring and to be student teaching this fall; however, due to difficulties on my end, I will need to retake my education capstone in the spring of next year. To that end, I am seeking out experience in the classroom wherever I can find it. As part of this capstone, I put together a classroom management portfolio detailing my approach to classroom management from multiple angles. I created this with some creativity and research I did into how other blind teachers manage their classrooms. I have found two possible avenues to gaining more meaningful classroom experience in the months leading up to my retaking of the capstone next spring. One of them is a school run by SUU called Success Academy where students may go for middle and high school; upon successful completion they may be admitted into SUU for a reduced cost. Another possibility is working as a substitute teacher throughout the school district. I have been in contact with the director of Success Academy, and while the conversation is in its early stages, he has expressed interest in working with me in some capacity. Along with this, I was wondering if I could connect with any of you to share some of my classroom management portfolio and talk both theoretically and practically about any strengths and areas for improvement I can work on as I work in these two areas. As this portfolio is long and covers many things that are more general to teaching as a whole, I wouldn’t share all of it—some areas of interest include classroom rules, procedures, classroom setup, the first day, dealing with parents, and self-organization.
>> I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these things. Thank you in advance for your willingness to help. If you want to connect with me privately, feel free to send an email to the address from which this email was sent.
