For those of you who were not there, or were not paying attention, I am
including the information from last week's New York City Chapter meeting.
At that meeting, an attorney with The National Center for Law and Economic
Justice gave out information about preparations for a lawsuit against city
agencies that do not provide their documentation in accessible formats. If
you receive benefits through LOCAL city agencies, such as the New York City
Human Resource Administration or the City Medicaid and Food Stamp Agency,
have asked for documents in an accessible format, and have been denied, the
National Center for Law and Economic Justice can possibly help. Teh ADA
requires that State and local agencies provide written materials in
alternative formats.

The attorney who presented, and her information is:
Cary LaCheen, NCLEJ, 212-633-6967 or lacheen at nclej.org

Ms. LaCheen stressed that her organization is only working with local
government agencies, and not state offices.
