Business Meeting

September 29, 2024

 

In attendance: Heather Bird, Margo Downey, Lucy Marr, Amanda Martins,
Kelleigh Larsson, Nina Marranca, Jim Jonas, Bernice Bird, Mary Lou Mendez,
Eric Brickman, Mike Forzano, Mausam and Zack.

We discussed the Ride Share Rally and how we may support both Heather and
Mausam to attend this event. After some discussion, Margo made the motion
that NYAGDU will purchase or reimburse the cost of the airline tickets for
Heather and Mausam to attend the Ride Share Rally in San Francisco . The
motion was seconded and passed.

 

We reviewed the options for keeping our money at KeyBank or moving it to
Citizen's Bank, where the NFBNY affiliate currently conducts treasury
business. After some discussion, Margo made a motion that we transfer our
funds from KeyBank to Citizen's Bank as soon as possible. The motion was
seconded and passed unanimously. 

 

Our current officers are:

Margo Downey, Vice President

Lucy Marr, Secretary/Treasurer

Board member 1: Amanda Martins

Board Member 2: Jim Jonas

 

Elections were conducted with the following results:

 

Kelleigh Larsson, President (Two Year Term)

Amanda Martins, Vice President (One Year Term)

Lucy Marr, Secretary/Treasurer (Secretary two-year term/Treasurer One Year
Term)

Board Member 1: Mausam (Two Year Term)

Board Member 2: Mary Lou Mendez (One Year Term)

 

Heather suggested that we use What's App to communicate as the NYAGDU Board.
She encouraged us to determine our meeting dates and time so that we can
create a calendar. 

 

We had a discussion of the upcoming Ride Share rally being held on October 15
in San Fransisco to demonstrate at Uber and Lyft's headquarters over access
denials of guide dog users. Heather reviewed the logistics she has learned
through talking with Raul Gallegos and John Pare.
