Just want to tell you that Amy Phelps was the national coordinator, working
fr NFB's National Center at the time, for the mentoring program we did here
in Ohio. She is awesome and you would love her. I encourage anyone
interested who meets the criteria to apply. You will have a blast and it
will be a fabulous experience.
If you were in the Ohio Mentoring Program or knew about it and had friends
in it, be nsure to mention that in your cover letter.
What a cool project this is!

Deborah

Mentors for 2014 LIFE Program

Hey all,

Here is something which was posted on Ohio Talk. It sounds like a great
opportunity! I am a little unclear about whether this is meant for people
from around the nation, or really seeking mentors from Virginia where the
program takes place, but there is contact information for the woman in
charge if you are interested in applying.

I know there are some young people in the Ohio NFB and believe you would be
excellent roll models in this program. Please consider applying for this
wonderful opportunity.

Seeking: Blind Mentors for 2014 LIFE Program

Are you looking for a job this summer?
Are you a blind college student or young blind professional who is
enthusiastic and confident in your blindness skills?
Do you want to inspire while promoting a positive image of blindness to up
and coming blind youth and young adults?
Do you want to work with blind youth to help them reach their full potential
and encourage them to have high expectations for themselves?

If the answer to these questions is a resounding YES, then the VRCBVI 2014
LIFE summer program needs you to work as a mentor!

The Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Vision Impaired
(VRCBVI) is seeking three blind college-age mentors to work with our 2014
