[Oagdu] Convention activities.

Hello folks,

 

I want to invite you all to attend the Ohio Association of Guide Dog User’s meeting at the NFB Ohio Convention! We will be meeting at 12:15 on Saturday, November 1st. Our guest speaker this year will be Jenine Stanley, who has a guide dog from the Guide Dog Foundation (GDF). She also works as the Consumer Relations Coordinator for GDF. Jenine will be talking about the recent changes with TSA, living in a household with two guide dogs, and the training at GDF.  After the meeting, Jenine will have time to allow people to “test drive” a guide dog. 

We are selling raffle tickets again this year for a $25 Darden gift card, which can be used at Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Long Horn and more. We are doing this just like last year; please Braille or print the name and phone number of the individual who is purchasing tickets on a regular sized index card. Tickets will be $1.00 each or six tickets for $5.00. Sell them to friends, family, co-workers, church members, NFB members, etc. The drawing will take place in December, so please try to sell as many tickets as possible. 

As we discussed on our last conference call, I checked about ordering pizza for our meeting. Unfortunately, the hotel will not let us, so please make appropriate lunch plans.
