[Oagdu] You can't have the best of both worlds... Or can you?

Good Morning,
I have been pondering over something that I saw someone write on Facebook a few weeks ago. This girl is a guide dog user, and is also doing bioptic driver training. For those who are not sure what that is, it's training to help visually impaired people continue to drive, with the use of monoculars and other devices.
Personally, I have a lot of issues with this scenario. I feel that if you are legally blind and require a cane or a guide dog to get around safely, that you should not be able to drive too. You can't have the best of both worlds, you are either blind or sighted. Yes, there are many blind people with some vision, but I think it's wrong to have both a guide dog and a driver's license. I don't think it's fair to use both.
What do you all think? Am I over-reacting? Do you know other guide dog handlers who also drive?
