[Oagdu] Crating our dogs.

Thanks for all of your opinions, I will check it out to see if it is mandatory now. And if it is, I think I would have to fight it, LOL. I have nothing against crates, I just don’t think it should be mandatory.
The area where I am considering working is assembling folders for government agencies. There is no risk to the dog, since there is no heavy machinery. The biggest issue I can see is that a stray dog hair would get caught in the tape/glue strips. But, that hair could come from someone’s clothing too.

I would think only in those circumstances where the presence of the dog would be unsafe for the dog, the handler, the product that's being made or some other facet of the work.  I can understand it at CA be VI. On the main workshop floors it is not necessarily safe for the dog to be out even on tiedown. In your environment I believe that it should not be a requirement of your employer that you crate mambo.

So, back to my original question… In what instances can an employer make it mandatory to crate your dog?
