[Oagdu] Crating our dogs.

Marianne,
I have a question about the instance of the situation with the fire alarms... So, if the person's dog was in a crate during the alarm or drill, how did the person get safely outside, if they could not use their guide dog? I'm assuming that they used sighted guide or else a back-up cane if they had one. I for one would not be comfortable, especially in the case of a real fire, with leaving my dog for someone else to get. If it really was an actual fire, the safety person may be in such a hurry to leave the building that they might forget the dogs.
Again thank you all for your suggestions and comments. I may not be working extra hours in that department, but just wanted to see other's opinions and views.
Deanna

That is a good question. At CABVI each area had someone who was in charge of making sure the area was cleared. People who had to crate their dogs were told to leave the dogs and the person in charge of safety would get the dogs. There were some areas at CABVI where it would be dangerous to keep your dog near you.
