[Oagdu] Fundraising ideas...

I have another idea for a fundraiser…
This Saturday, we are having a Bake Sale for our Cincinnati NFB Chapter. Well, I was baking all afternoon yesterday, and decided to bring in a few items to work this morning. I start at 7:30 AM and all of the stuff I brought in sold way before 8:00. I sold each blondie and each piece of Friendship bread for $1.00. So, I made $20 for our NFB Chapter this morning. I had to turn some people away because I had ran out. So, I know we are very spread out, but I wonder if we could possibly have a bake sale at Convention? I wonder if we can set-up a table in the exhibit area (it’s probably too late for that though). We could all contribute to the baking and carry a few items around with us to sell. What do you all think?
Also, it would be great if our members who live near each other could get together and hold bake sales from time to time. Selling things here at work is a great option for me, we all love food! I’m sure you all know of places where you can sell goods to help Oagdu raise money.

Hi all,
We had many ideas on our last call regarding fundraisers. Here are a few things that were mentioned:

1. A pre-paid Visa or Mastercard.

2. An item from the Independence Market (ex: talking thermometer).

3. Purchasing an iPod Touch for $199. We have a few members looking into whether we can get a technology item donated.

What do you all think? We can sell raffle tickets for the item of choice at Convention and afterwards like we have done in the past. The drawing can take place in mid-December. Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Deanna
