[Oagdu] obedience competition and state convention planning

I don't think it would take much to make overhead obstacles. some
string, pbc pipe and foam would work if people would want to do that.
Either that or if someone has something awesome like a coat rack or
anything like that.
Maybe not the judges being "guide dog" handlers, but I want them to at
least have experience with service dogs, how we correct them, how we
praise them and what thye are actually supposed to do.
I just don't want the command to be "come," and even though every school
teaches a diferent response, if your dog does not do the right one and
we correct them, I just don't want someone random saying "But they came!
why did you correct, I'm going to give them a point anyway," or some
issue like that.
Parts outside would be cool if we could make it work.

Where can we get the equipment for things like overhead obstacles, etc.? I definitely like the idea of distractions and getting annoying people to try to interact with the dogs.

> Also, for the obedience competition, there should be some different levels. For example, if my friend who has an 8 month old service dog in training, she would want him to be in an easier competition than my 17 month old Leader Dog. But that will only work if we have enough longer puppies.
> Also, I think there should be regular obedience, and then cruel and evil people walking around trying to distract the dogs with food, toys, stuffed animals, and if possible other dogs, for distracted obedience!
> We have to make sure that all handlers are confident with their dogs to do that though, so that would take some more discussion.
