Thanks everyone for the prayers!
Pascal’s appointment had to be rescheduled due to transportation issues. So, he is going this afternoon instead.
Aleeha, what did you end up having to do when Dallas hurt his knee?
Thanks again for all the support. Wishing you all a very nice Thanksgiving!
Deanna

Hey Deanna,
Sending hugs and prayers from me and kisses from Whitley. We’ll be thinking of you today. Hope Mr. Pascal feels better. I remember when Dallas had those issues. It was not nice at all.

Hi all, just wanted to give you a quick update on what’s been going on with Pascal.
On November 9th, Pascal and Mambo were playing (as they always do) and Pascal injured his left back leg. He was limping, and would not put any weight on his leg. We thought that maybe it was his hip, since he does have arthritis in his hips.
We took him to the Vet on November 10th and they think he pulled his ACL. They gave him a laser treatment, steroid shot, pain meds, and a stronger dose of the Rimadyl he’s been taking for the last few months. Just a shout out to the Rimadyl, it’s been a miracle drug, it’s helped him immensely! His arthritis is so much better and he wants to play more and not just lay around and sleep. Ok, back to the appointment, the Vet suggested that he take it easy, no playing and no going up and down steps, this was hard on him because he loves to go to the basement and chill with my step dad, Larry.
We took Pascal back to the Vet on Monday, the 14th, and the doc did an X-ray, but still wasn’t able to tell if he’s actually torn his ACL, so he referred us to a specialist, an Orthopedic Surgeon. We have that appointment scheduled for today, November 21st. The doctor did note that when he was moving Pascal’s leg that it was more flexible and didn’t seem to hurt him as much, so that was good! And Pascal was starting to feel a little friskier; he was trying to play with the dogs in the waiting room, LOL.
So, over the past week, we’ve tried to let Pascal rest and heal, and it’s helped a lot. He is putting more weight on his leg and is moving around much better. He is still limping though, but it doesn’t seem to bother him much. And he and Mambo keep trying to sneak in little play sessions when no one is looking! LOL. He even snuck down to the basement the other night; because Larry accidentally left the door open. He got up and down the stairs just fine. It’s not perfect, but it is healing. So, I really hope he didn’t tear his ACL after all. We are still seeing the specialist this afternoon to be sure. So, please keep us in your thoughts today!
